Reclaimed wood is old wood, sometimes hundreds of years old, and comes from a variety of sources: old barns, warehouses, factories - the lumber Nordecor mills is salvaged from early American structures throughout the country. The wood has aged and matured and has characteristics that vary from piece to piece. The aged character of the wood makes it unique and often the creates one-of-a-kind pieces. There is a warmth and charm to reclaimed wood that is impossible to re-create with any modern methods.


RECLAIMED OAK

Oak is course textured. Red oak has reddish brown heartwood and white oak is a light-brown sapwood. Grain is very pronounced.

RECLAIMED CHESTNUT

Chestnut has a sapwood that is white to light brown, while the heartwood is grayish-brown to brown in color. Chestnut has a straight, sometimes spiraled grain and is fairly coarse in texture. Chestnut is used for paneling and flooring.

Walnut is light to dark chocolate brown. It provides strength, hardness, and durability without excessive weight. Walnut is used for flooring, paneling and trim.
